About
Carol Lynn Nesbitt
I'm a professional
artist living in the Atlanta area. I was born and raised in
Dayton, Ohio and has always had a love for art. During
college, my family discouraged me from pursuing an art
education. I obtained a BA in Journalism in 1989 from The
Ohio State University.
In 1991, I moved to the metro Atlanta area and started a
family and a career in marketing. I now have two children, 4
dogs and a loving husband.
In 2002, I began to have recurring dreams of painting
pictures. At that time, I had not picked up a paintbrush
since college. Soon the dreams became too hard to deny and I
bought a set of paints for myself on my birthday in 2003.
Around that same time, I also began seeing the eyes of a
greyhound in my dreams. I rescued a greyhound, Champy, from
a local greyhound rescue organization. It was his portrait
that I first painted in 2003 that rekindled the artist
within me. All of my friends and family said "YOU painted
that??"
Since that painting, I became addicted to the creamy paints
and quiet meditation that painting provides. I became
obsessed with it and also began researching the healing
properties of art in color and form. I've experimented with
incorporating healing energies into my paintings to give
them unique signatures.
In 2006, I took a break from my 14-year marketing career to spend
more time with my family and indulge in learning as much as
possible about my new found passion: art and healing.
Today I continue to paint part-time in my home studio, mostly focusing
on dog paintings. I give a portion of profit back to animal
rescue each month, as that is something that I care deeply
about. I am proud to say that I have collectors all over the
globe.
